Whether you are hearing the cello for the first time or are already familiar with its sound, I hope my performance will make you think, “I never knew the cello could sound this beautiful!” I perform each piece with heartfelt care, hoping to share the unique warmth and beauty of the cello with every audience.

Artist Biography
Born in Tokushima Prefecture, Akane Fujimoto began playing the cello at the age of 12.

She received the Grand Prize in the High School Division of the Tokushima Prefecture Music Competition. She graduated from Osaka Kyoiku University, where she studied cello, and later completed her cello studies at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music in Hungary.

In 2015, she was selected as a recipient of the Hungarian Government’s Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship, receiving a full tuition waiver.

She was also a prizewinner in the Age-G Division of the Osaka International Music Competition.

During her time in Hungary, she performed at the Embassy of Japan in Hungary and for Japanese companies, collaborated with the Liszt Ferenc Chamber Orchestra, and appeared in concerts throughout Hungary.

She has studied cello under Kazuko Tagami, Aiichi Oki, and Csaba Onczay.

Based primarily in the Kansai region, she is active as a soloist and chamber musician, performs as a guest musician with the Kansai Philharmonic Orchestra, and is also dedicated to teaching the next generation of musicians. In addition to classical music, she performs across a wide range of genres, including jazz and pop.
