Artist Biography

Began studying the koto at the age of five, and started learning the shamisen and 17-string bass koto at fourteen.
Since 2019, has studied koto, shamisen, and 17-string under Master Oremoto Tonju.

Awards include:

  • Bronze Prize in the General Division (Contemporary Works) at the 8th Tonegawa Eihou Memorial Japanese Music Competition (2022)
  • Encouragement Award in the Koto Division at the 4th Fukui Prefecture Traditional Performing Arts New Generation Competition (2022)
  • Encouragement Award in the General Division (Contemporary Works) at the 10th Aioi National Japanese Music Competition (2024)

Formed the koto duo Izumi in 2022.
Graduated at the top of her class from the Department of Music, Osaka University of Arts.

Currently a member of the Kansai Chamber Japanese Music Ensemble and teaches as a part-time music instructor at Shitennoji Elementary School and Osaka Prefectural Mikunigaoka High School.
