For many people today, hearing a live shamisen performance is a rare experience. Ogura Seizan approaches the instrument with the intention of making it accessible and enjoyable for those unfamiliar with it. Rather than limiting himself to traditional styles, he performs a wide range of genres on the shamisen—including popular songs, pop music, rock, and classical.
It was a joyful and memorable time for everyone involved. We began with traditional pieces, then moved on to popular songs such as ‘A Thousand Winds’ and others. I believe everyone truly enjoyed it. Thank you very much.
