Exploring New Possibilities in Art – Senyo Maruyama

アート書道パフォーマンス撮影会 - 女流書道家 丸山 茜葉

In 2015, BanMusic began exploring new artistic possibilities and entered into a partnership with a calligraphy artist.

We are pleased to introduce the work of the female calligrapher Senyo Maruyama, and in order to showcase her expressive performances to a wider audience, a promotional video shoot was conducted.

Her calligraphy performance alone is powerful and visually compelling enough for events where a single artist is featured. However, we also highly recommend collaborative performances with BanMusic’s musicians or dancers, creating a richer and more immersive artistic experience.
As seen during this promotional video shoot, her calligraphy is performed in synchronization with music.

For the promotional video, the calligraphy paper used was a reinforced full-sheet size. For larger-scale performances, multiple sheets can be seamlessly joined together.
Depending on the event and venue, she can perform by writing on paper laid on the floor, or on paper mounted vertically on boards or panels.

All necessary materials, including paper and tools, are prepared by our team, allowing clients to enjoy a smooth and hassle-free experience.

Akiba Maruyama is one of BanMusic’s most highly recommended artists. Please feel free to contact us for inquiries or consultations.

As this performance took place in spring, I chose to create a piece with a soft and gentle atmosphere.
Depending on the theme, I sometimes work using only black ink, while at other times I incorporate color. For this piece, I added color to evoke a sense of renewal and optimism in anticipation of spring.

Writing in harmony with music brings both a sense of tension and exhilaration, and I completed the work in one continuous flow.
