Planning an Outdoor Wedding After-Party
While it is common to reserve a restaurant for a wedding after-party, Higashiyama Sanso, Kyoto is a unique venue that allows exclusive use of an outdoor garden within a dining establishment.
The couple who commissioned this event are both avid fans of rock band music. With the vision of hosting a lively, outdoor festival-style after-party while playing their favorite songs, we undertook careful preparations beginning approximately two months in advance.

During the preparation stage, festival-style hanging bulbs were installed throughout the outdoor garden, creating a summer-festival atmosphere. Multiple barbecue grills were set up, alongside a DJ booth and lighting equipment, all prepared well before the event began.
As Higashiyama Sanso is located in a secluded, mountainous area, there were no concerns regarding noise for nearby residents, allowing us to play music at a high volume. Once the event started, the subwoofers were turned up, and a dynamic mix of trending club music and requested rock tracks filled the space. Background music for each activity—such as the intro quiz and the treasure hunt—had been carefully planned in advance, making the event run exceptionally smoothly.
Guest reactions were extremely positive, and we received high praise for the overall execution.
After-parties with such a well-thought-out program are quite rare, and this one proved to be a truly memorable event.
