Although the preparation period from receiving the request to the performance date was quite short and required us to work at a fast pace, the excitement of being able to perform at a Christmas concert outweighed any sense of urgency.
During the performance, we played in a warm and relaxed atmosphere while guests enjoyed their meals. Despite it being during dinner, we received applause after each song, which was truly encouraging.
As the venue was arranged in a long, horizontal layout, I was able to sing while clearly seeing the guests’ faces. Performing while feeling their presence so close by created a strong sense of unity and closeness. With the hope of offering even a small moment of comfort and warmth, I sang each song with care, putting my heart into every lyric.
Rather than simply delivering songs one-sidedly, I felt as though there was a lively exchange with the audience, receiving various reactions in return. That sense of back-and-forth communication was a very precious experience.
